Award Descriptions

The Awards Ceremony will take place at 5:00 p.m. in the Sage Auditorium.

Top winners in the Junior and Senior Division may be eligible to compete (with all expenses paid) in the STANYS State Science Congress to be held in early June 2009 at the College of St. Rose in Albany or at the 60th Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Reno, Nevada, May 8-15, 2009.

Top winners in the Junior Division may be eligible to enter the 2nd SSP Middle School Program.

A large number of prizes and awards will be presented to winners in both divisions, including many cash awards, as well as a Rensselaer Scholarship and an Albany College of Pharmacy Scholarship. In the past, the Rensselaer School of Science, the Eastern Section of STANYS, many scientific and mathematics associations and societies, as well as the various branches of the United States Armed Services, have donated special awards.

The purpose of these awards is to give recognition to specific areas of science research. They include the regional and Intel ISEF awards.

Regional Awards

These awards were developed by our Regional Fair and are not offered at the International finals.

Intel ISEF Awards

These awards are also offered at the International finals.
